It is with so much sadness that I report that Ron Robins AD75 (RNSTS Retd) (Member 0413) Crossed the Bar in hospital on Saturday 27 November 2021 aged 92. Ron was a great friend to the RFA in general and me in particular.
It is hoped that Ron's funeral will be on 13th December 2021 and will be a private, family only cremation at the North Devon Crematorium (HERE for their website and HERE for a map). This will be followed by a memorial service at St Mary's Appledore (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) Old shipmates and colleagues will be most welcome to join the family afterwards for refreshments. Arrangements are being made by Padfields Funeral Directors, Barnstaple (HERE for their website and HERE for a map).
Family flowers only but donations in lieu, and if desired, should be made in Ron's name, to Padfields who are co-ordinating the collection and distribution in according with the the families wishesl
On behalf of the RFA Association I offer sincere and deep condolences to Ron's daughter Debbie, son Paul and two grandchildren, his wife Pamela pre-deceased him 20 years ago.
If you have any remembrances of Ron please email it to me at captain.pat@rfa-association.org.uk and I will post them on this page. Alternatively you can post to our facebook page "RFA Crossed the Bar". I am also looking for photographs of Ron for this piece and the RFA Association Gallery and Archive, if you have one please email it to me.
