Sitrep 1 :- Time of funeral

It is with so much sadness I report that Chief Officer (X) Peter John Snelson RFA(Retd) Crossed the Bar on Monday 3rd June 2019 aged 66, after a battle with an Asbestos related illness. He was not a member of our association but was a member of our RFA family.

His  funeral service  followed by cremation is expected to take place on Friday 28th June at 12:00 (Sitrep 1) at the Memorial Woodlands, Bristol (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) old shipmates and colleagues will be most welcome to attend and will be invited to join the family for refreshments afterwards. If you are hoping to attend it would be helpful to liase with the Funeral Directors (see below) for the catering arrangements.

Arangements for Peter's funeral are being made by L.W. Clutterbuck (HERE for their website and HERE for a map)

On behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to all his family.

The RFAA Offices in the Semaphore Tower have been re-assigned to BAE Systems and our Archive and registered Charity Office have been moved to

Room 15
Building 1/078
Stony Lane
PP 15
HM Naval Base
Portsmouth
PO1 3NH

The address is our archive location and the official Charity address.  This address will be infrequently checked for mail and all correspondence should be directed to our home addresses as appropriate.

I have been promised some photographs which I will add to this page when received.

The new property remains within the secure area of the Dockyard, which is a pain but on the bright side it is very inexpensive.
